The Grace of Christian Community
The Presbyterian pastor, theologian and writer Eugene Peterson reminds us of the words spoken by Jesus, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life" (John 14:6).
"My concern is with the responsibility of Christians, every Christian, to develop awareness and facility in the ways of Jesus as we go about our daily lives following Jesus in home and workplace, neigborhood and congregation, so that our following is consonant with his leading." (Eugene Peterson)
Actively engaged in the support of HELP of Beaufort (providing help to people of special need via financial assistance, clothes and food) and the LowCountry Habitat for Humanity (working to eliminate substandard housing in northern Beaufort County one house at a time), the mission and ministry of the Sea Island Presbyterian Church has six (6) practical aspects: to proclaim the gospel for the salvation of humankind; to enjoy the grace of spiritual fellowship; to worship God, to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ; to promote social righteousness; and to exhibit the Kingdom of Heaven to the world.
We hope that you might accept this invitation to visit us on a Sunday morning, Wednesday night or some other time. Summer Worship Schedule
We gather on Sundays to worship God, affirm our faith, and celebrate the grace and encouragement of Christian community at the following hours:
8:30 - Worship
9:30 - Sunday School will reconvene August 30th
10:30 - Worship
5:00 - Vespers with the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper
5:00 - PYC will reconvene after the summer
Our 5:00pm Vespers Service with Communion is provided for Sunday travelers and those who work during the day and some who like a smaller group.
